With planting season over, TfS activity is now focussed on the important job of potting up/transplanting seedlings. This season, TfS worked with 9 nurseries around the regions who have supplied native seedlings to 258 schools. For several nurseries, working with the TFS programme is a well-honed process, gradually refined over many years. As the TfS programme has grown and begun working in new regions, TfS is now also enjoying new partnerships and learning around local seed collection, and species. Approx 258,000 seedlings have been distributed this season and once transferred into planter bags in the school growing units, will grow, ready for planting in 2027.
