2026 was the first planting season for 3 new Trees for Survival school clusters in Mohua Golden Bay, Christchurch and South Canterbury. TfS are thrilled after lots of planning and preparation, for planting days to come to fruition in the South Island with 7 schools growing and planting over 5,200 native plants! Cooler conditions in Southland means this seasons plants will continue to grow over the summer before early 2027 planting for 3 schools in southland. The season owes its success to all the partners, landowners and nurseries who have contributed. We look forward to another 3 schools planting in Canterbury next year with further schools joining the programme in Mohua next season.
