In June, Trees for Survival Schools planted 34,142 native plants that were grown and nurtured by students in their TfS shade house - bringing our 2023 total native plant count to 51,802 so far. Of the native plants grown and nurtured by Trees for Survival schools the majority of our plants this year have been Ti Kouka (cabbage tree), Manuka, Harakeke (Flax), and Karamu (Coprosma). By partnering with Trees or Survival we’re helping NZ students learn about and engage with their environment.
