The Accor Hotels PLANET 21 Programme
PLANET 21 is a sustainable development programme that covers all of Accor’s environmental, social and community obligations. It outlines 21 commitments towards sustainable development which are structured into seven pillars: Health, Nature, Carbon, Innovation, Local Development, Employment and Dialogue. Through PLANET 21, Accor and its hotels are acting together for the well-being of the world. In all their hotels, they work with employees, guests and partners to reinvent hotels – sustainably.

Accor and Trees for Survival
Accor New Zealand, in partnership with Trees for Survival, is working to help restore New Zealand’s natural heritage. This commitment to the Trees for Survival programme is funded from the savings achieved in New Zealand hotels every time a towel is re-used by a guest.

Novotel Wellington staff enjoy a planting day with Glenview Primary, their Trees for Survival school

In 2015, Accor New Zealand is looking forward to working even more closely with the programme. Each hotel will once again work with their school to assist with planting days and will also conduct other activities that are engaging, educational and fun for both the hotel staff and the children.

Accor New Zealand is passionate about working with local communities and together with Trees for Survival can continue to support and educate on the importance of sustainability for the future.
