A stalwart of TfS

Getting involved with a St Kentigern College planting

With the passing of Trees for Survival Trustee Warren Edwards, a long-serving member of Rotary Club of Pakuranga, TfS lost one of its most committed workers. Warren was associated with TfS since its inception and has been heavily involved at all levels of the programme. He contributed significantly to the administration of TfS including serving as National Manager for some years, during which, in challenging times, he ensured that the finances were handled prudently; he also oversaw the installation of plant growing units outside Auckland.

A Life Member of TfS and member of the National Committee, Warren was still digging hard on an extremely steep site the day that Pakuranga College planted the one millionth tree and he was spotted on a St Kentigern College planting day as recently as 2012.

TfS Patron Bill Boyd says, “Warren had a passion for what we are doing and he will be missed by his many friends.”
